First steps

The first things to do after installing. Play a match in the launcher, open the editor and bring your game to the launcher.

DescribesLauncher and editor 0.4.0 For everyone

On this page

You now have the launcher and the editor on your computer. If not, go back to Download and install.

Play your first match#

  1. Open the launcher. It starts in Library: "Installed" at the top, empty; "Available" below, with the seven games.
  2. Press Install on a game. It downloads nothing: all seven come inside the launcher.
  3. Press Play, pick the difficulty and press Play again.
  4. Move with W A S D or the arrow keys and jump with Space. Esc pauses and shows all the controls.

More: Library and Playing.

Make your first game#

  1. Open the editor. It starts in Your games, with no projects.
  2. Press New game. You pick how it is programmed (Rules or code, or Blocks), the game type, a template and the name: New game.
  3. Follow the tutorial Your first game: you build a yard with coins, lava and a goal, without writing code.
The editor, just opened

If you would rather look before you touch: Editor tour. When you finish the first one, there is a second tutorial, with an isometric game: Your second game. And if what you want is to learn to program with pieces that snap together: Blocks. To put drawings and models you made yourself in your game: Your first model.

Bring your game to the launcher#

  1. In the editor, press Export. It only exports if the game passes validation and the bot can finish it. The .ggx file is saved in the Green Games/exportados folder of your user.
  2. In the launcher, press Import .ggx and pick the file, or drag it onto the window.
  3. The launcher checks the package and, if it is valid, installs it in your library.

To share it with someone, send them the .ggx file. Online publishing does not exist yet.

More: Game card and export and Import a .ggx.
