Library
See the games, open their game card, install them, play them offline and uninstall them in the launcher.
DescribesLauncher 0.4.0 For everyone
The Library is the screen the launcher opens with. It has two lists:
- Installed: the games that are ready to play. The first time it is empty and says "You have not installed any game yet. Pick one of the available games or import a .ggx file."
- Available: the seven games that ship with the launcher. Each card shows the cover, the name, the description, the tags and the Install button.
At the top right is the Import .ggx button, for opening games that do not come with the launcher: Import a .ggx.
The menu on the left has two entries, Library and Settings. The launcher's version is at the bottom. The whole launcher can be driven with a mouse, a keyboard or a gamepad: Controls.
Offline#
The seven games come inside the launcher. Installing one downloads nothing: it copies the game to your data folder. The launcher works entirely offline, and with no online catalog set up it makes no network requests at all.
A game's card#
Pick a card to open the game card. It shows:
| Field | What it says |
|---|---|
| Status | Available or Installed |
| Your history | Your matches and records in that game. With no matches it says "You have not played yet. Your records will show up here." |
| Version | The game's version |
| Made by | The author |
| Players | How many it supports: "1 player" or, for example, "1 to 4 players" |
| On this computer | Only in games for several people on the same computer. For example, "Up to 2 people, split screen" |
| Online | Only in games that declare it. It says "Not available yet: online rooms are not open" |
| Difficulties | For example Easy, Normal and Hard |
| Controls | Keyboard and mouse, Gamepad, Touch screen, depending on what the game supports |
| Tags | The ones its author set |
| Size | How much the game weighs |
| Source | Where it came from: "Bundled with Green Games" or "Imported file" |
The On this computer and Online rows are explained in Playing.
Install#
- On the card in the list or on the game card, press Install.
- The launcher tells you when it is done: "Green Light Circuit is installed."
- The game moves to Installed and its button changes to Play.
Bundled games and the ones you import sit together under Installed.
Play#
Press Play on the card in the list or on the game card. The game's start screen opens: Playing.
Uninstall#
- Open the game card of the installed game.
- Press Uninstall.
- The launcher asks "Uninstall …?". If you also want to delete what you saved, check Also delete my progress and history. It starts unchecked.
- Confirm with Uninstall, or go back with Cancel.
One of the seven games that ship with the launcher goes back to Available. To get an imported game back, keep its .ggx file and import it again.
With the box unchecked, uninstalling removes the game, not your progress: what the game saved and your records stay on disk. See History and progress.
